Atwater Digital Literacy Project

From 2006 - 2009 I founded, and coordinated the Atwater Digital Literacy Project, a creative media production program for based out of the historic Atwater Library and Computer Centre.

The DLP was designed to be a responsive critical media program for youth and adults living in the communities in the libraries catchment area, specifically the low-income neighbourhoods; Verdun, Ste. Henri, Pointe Ste- Charles and Little Burgundy. By building partnerships between local new media practitioners, new media businesses, schools and local community service organizations we created learning and employment opportunities for Anglophone youth in west-downtown Montreal.

During the four years that I coordinated this project I had the opportunity to build relationships with many excellent community service organizations in Montreal. If you would like to learn more about the kinds of workshops we developed at the DLP please visit the Digital Literacy Project website.
