Blogs in Space!!!!!!!!!

Anoush Ansari: First woman to blog from space.

See now, that's a *good* reason to keep a blog.

Via Blogher: "The first to know what kind of crazy shit women are up to at any given time in the universe."

Ansari's tagline is "Revolution through competition" I have to go away and think about that one for a while.

One abstract down only 2.5 years to go

This entry has no blogwords, all outta words.

Just wanted to reflect on the appropriateness of listening to Justin Timberlake while working on a paper about WOM and user communities as creators, I wouldnt even be listening to this if two reputable sources hadn't told me I would like it.

More importantly;

"By examining three different instances of online social networks, all of which offer their users opportunities to create, promote and directly or indirectly profit from their independently produced cultural products this study will attempt to map out the influences consumer as producer relationships have on the superstructures that contain, create and profit from the online spaces in which they occur."

Updated! (pronounce that like "arrowed" in Strongbad)

It's been really really busy, so I've been ignoring this venue in favor of sleepin' eatin' readin' (Which reminds me that I forgot to pick up wednesdays reading which i must do on monday).
Some reflections in less than chronological order - what floats to the top gets a mention.

#1 - I got a new Job! (in fact a couple)

This fall I'll be working with my amazing conspiritors John and Jen on a project with the inestimably cool Nancy White . Can you spell intimidating, I can, it's "w-o-r-k-i-n-g w-i-t-h o-n-e-'-s h-e-r-o" Anyways, I'm sure we'll do fine, we're already doing fine, except for one dodgy skype connection, a wandering doggy, and some kiboshed data the whole project is off to a roaring good start. right?

Second yoga class + Pinback

I just did another yoga class.

I think it's one of those days when work and ambition and all the other things I usually use to prop up my ever-so-tenuous-sense of self aren't quite doing the trick.

I worry that the reason I work at all isn't to fulfil myself but to get away from the feeling that I am a little afraid of living life as if I were fulfilled just by being alive, not needing always to be frustrated by debt and desire.

Luckily in such moments there's always Pinback. You could listen to this too, if you thought perhaps the world was doing you a mild injustice by not feeling like a good stretch in your spine 24/7.
