What an exciting day

A wasp just stung the "f**k you wasp" finger on my left hand.

I called Jen because I was in too much pain to google aprés-wasp care myself.

She read this to me as I careened (screeching) around the apartment trying to eat an antihistamine while washing my digit and then coating it liberally in arnica gel.

Wasps are very territorial and will defend their nests aggressively and they can sting repeatedly. Multiple wasp stings can be extremely painful and unpleasant. One wasp sting is enough to make a person break the 100m Olympic sprint record. The author, who once worked at a crocodile farm, jumped over three large crocodiles after having been stung by a small 3cm long wasp in a desperate bid to escape more stings!

Designing from "inside myself"

Frankly I am a bit worried about this because I found this tutorial that I am assuming is a satire, but maybe it isn't???

It doesn't matter because in any case it's hilarious.

Web 2.0 Design... in a nutshell by Roman Mittermayr.

Poor Roman I feel like a meanie laughing at his tutorial - but it's not him in particular it's the whole "welschmertz" of 2.0design, which he's actually managed to capture in a quite impressive little nutshell. For example;

First of all, check out these sites for a basic overview. Try to identify the major similarities between the various concepts. All of them seem to origin from the very same developer. Even though there’s no guideline (except this one here, wooho!) on that kind of design – it seems that the Bay Area is handing around some secret guide for that particular design scheme.

Yeah - well it does, and isn't that a bit weird kids... But let's truck on.

Ok, this sort of break-boring-html-rules trend seems to have got quite a must-have nowadays. Frankly, I also prefer rounded shapes over tight rectangles. Same with women, I guess. Nevertheless, some 2.0Culture providers do still stick to the rectangle design schemes. No problem at all, have a look at writeboard.com – their editor is a rectangled interface. Nice as well. To try a “psychological approach to this difference, I might point out these facts:

  • Rounded shapes look more inventive, younger, flexible and experimental

  • View to a KILL

I just want to say that I listened to all these people who said views and CCK are the best way to customize Drupal to suit your needs, I did, I thought they had something good going on.

    No longer.

I hate views. I'll learn it if I have to. But it's driving me nuts! The workflow is crappy - it's nothing but a glorified templating machine that erases all the flexibility that I used to enjoy hacking template files and combining specific purpose modules and for the most part all it does is replace that flexibility with the capacity to build nifty lists - yes, still lists.

    I DON'T WANT LISTS ANYMORE.

Help! is there a Condom in the room?

I went out yesterday to buy Jane a book of hers I thought I'd lent to another friend and lost.

Which I hadn't. So than I showed up all sheepish holding a paperback of the original actually not-lost Book and Jane was like; "Stupid you already returned that one it's the other one you haven't returned yet." Prompting a full confession of the lending of the borrowed book, which up to that point I had managed to keep well-hidden.

I ended my snivelling explanation with the phrase "Well above all else - the key is to live with integrity." Which I am sure everyone will agree is a perfectly valid sentiment.
