GO Fire Snake GO!

Stick it to the man Fire Snake. here's what my element of the Chinese zodiac (I am the fire snake obviously - could I even be a wood snake not likely) has to add to the already exciting predictions of heart thumps, hysteria, and martial arts.

Profound transformations might begin to take place in your personal life. You'll refuse to equivocate any longer, and you'll be ready to break definitely with your past.

That's right no more equivocations. No longer is the glass half-full, it isn't half full enough. Accept no substitutes fire snake is here and ready to live large while remaining on the whole kinda shy and anti-social.

Watch out y'alls

I thought this new nugget from Master Roa deserved an entry all it's own. It was in my health horoscope for 2007.

Practice a somewhat violent sport or a sufficiently tiring physical activity if you want to let off steam in a harmless way. Above all don't stay in a corner to complain.

My style of complaining can be classified as a somewhat violent sport but Master Roa doesn't know that. I guess Yoga won't suffice. I am so clumsy any sport is violent so long as I am an enthusiastic participant. Touch football? Aikido? I imagine that Master Roa is thinking of something along the lines of a martial art.

Getting a bit of help from Moc Duc

No sooner than the plastic was up on the windows than my sore throat turned into a genuine feeling of illness. I am not very good at getting sick so usually I have to define it via dizzy spells and lethargy. Any other physical symptoms I end up putting down to laziness.

So I am sick, lazy or suffering from an inner ear disorder, or all of the above.

Luckily, I have the internet and have more or less finished shopping for the next two days so it's not that bad a thing to be stuck in sofa-mode for a couple of days.

My Chinese horoscope has been published for 2007 too - so I can hunker down for a while with Master Roa and figure out what the Chinese astrologist has to say about my future

window coverings

I am only writing this because I am not in the mood to put up window plastic but I have no choice. It's too cold here not to.

I am so glad to be home... I love my dusty apartment with dodgy appliances, and I love my dog and I love the snobby market down the street where I go to buy cheap gourmet cheese, ( take that snobby cheese store in Parkdale - I hear your fancy words for rind and I reject them).

I even love that my cat just shed buckets of white hair all over the mahogany coloured bed cover I got for Christmas, although I am going to stop loving that in about 2 days.

I miss my family and friends already. Now that the refrain of when are you going to move back home has subsided slightly I gotta say, I am still happy to be here. If I could fold up the map of Canada like those old Mad magazine fold-in covers, to make Toronto and Montreal sit closer together I would in a heartbeat. As it is I guess I am stuck loving two places in equal measure for different reasons.
